Metcafe Men's Hostel

The College also provides hostel accommodation for the benefit of its students. Mens’ Hostel is one type of residential care services which provides out-of-home care for the youth either at college or at work and who are in need of placement for preparation of family reunion or training for independent living.

The objectives of Mens’ Hostel  are:

To provide substitute care for the youth in a stable and group living environment

To provide a residential programme with supervised living, guidance and supportive counselling services on residents’ problems leading to placement.

Nature of service

The services provided include:-

  • hostel care in the form of small group living within the hostel to facilitate individual contact, attention and closer relationship between residents in the hostels and with the residential workers;

  • guidance and supportive counselling to the residents on their personal problem(s), e.g. heterosexual relationship, budget control, life skill, etc. on individual or group basis;

  • providing social and recreational activities;

  • liaising with significant others involved in the youth’s placement, including headmaster, employer, guardian / family members and the referring worker;

  • guidance to facilitate academic and vocational development; and

  • regular review of individual plans or programmes through case discussion to update and review progress in relation to achieving the plan.

The college hostel started in the year .The College has an attached student’s managed hostel for men students beside the college. The principal is the Warden and Deputy Warden will be a Lecturer nominated by the principal. There are 25 rooms in the Hostel. Presently there are 30 students are accommodated in the hostel.  Due to leakage of roof, the first floor of the hostel building is locked and due to less number of students admitted in the hostel, there is no boarding facility in the hostel.
