Our Commitment
The Government College for Men (Autonomous), Kadapa is committed to providing equitable opportunities and support for students from Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) as per the guidelines of the UGC and Government of India.
The SEDGs Committee works to ensure inclusive education, remove barriers to learning, and provide necessary support systems for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our Vision
To create an inclusive academic environment that empowers students from all socio-economic backgrounds by providing equal opportunities, necessary support, and removing systemic barriers to their educational success.

Objectives of SEDGs Committee
- To identify students from socio-economically disadvantaged groups and assess their needs
- To ensure equitable access to all educational and co-curricular activities
- To monitor the implementation of reservation policies and welfare schemes
- To address grievances related to discrimination or unequal treatment
- To organize special mentoring and support programs for SEDG students
- To facilitate scholarships and financial assistance for eligible students
- To create awareness about government schemes and benefits available for SEDG students
- To promote an inclusive campus environment free from discrimination
Functions of the Committee
Representation
Act as a liaison between SEDG students and college administration to ensure their voices are heard.
Academic Support
Arrange remedial classes, bridge courses, and additional academic support for students who need it.
Financial Assistance
Help students access scholarships, fee waivers, and other financial support mechanisms.
Mentoring
Provide mentoring and counseling to help SEDG students adjust to college life and overcome challenges.
Awareness
Conduct awareness programs about rights, privileges, and support systems available for SEDG students.
Grievance Redressal
Address complaints related to discrimination or unequal treatment promptly and effectively.
