About the Department

Department of Physics was established in the year 1952 with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (PCM) and Physics, Chemistry, Geology (PCG) combinations, subsequently Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science (PMCs) combination was introduced in the year 2000-2001 to meet global standards. M.Sc. Physics was introduced from the year 2017-18 under the affiliation of Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa.

The Department has three fully equipped laboratories in Physics and one laboratory for Electronics. A specially designed dark room laboratory is provided for conducting optics experiments. This Department has 8 Qualified, Experienced Permanent Lecturers, and two Contract lecturers. The Department has 5 non-teaching staff to support the Lecturers for the smooth running of the departmental activities.
