Government College for Men

The two-day lecture workshop on “Recent Trends in Genetics” was organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Government College for Men (A), Kadapa, A.P., in association with Indian Academy of Sciences (Bengaluru), Indian National Science Academy (New Delhi), The National Academy of Sciences, India (Allahabad). The enormous response was well recognized through the registration of around 150 participants. The aim of this lecture workshop was to promote the study of Genetics and to know the advances in this field. We wish to use the National Academies’ initiative, the popular lecture workshop, to transfer the knowledge to the less privileged institutes located in rural areas like us. The workshop was initiated with registration of the participants at 9:30 to 10:00 AM on 19th January 2023. The program was started off with the inaugural ceremony at 10.00 am with a warm welcome by Dr. P. Kalpana, Coordinator, Lecture Workshop. In the inaugural session the dignitaries like Prof. N. B. Ramachandra, Convener of the workshop, Prof. T. Shivanandappa, University of Mysore, Mysuru, Dr. M. Subba Reddy, CDFD, Hyderabad and Prof. N. Upendra from IISc, Bengaluru, Honorable Principal Dr. G. Ravindranath of Government College for Men (A), Kadapa have participated.
